The company has retail outlets in Kenya located mostly in high traffic residential estates capitalizing on volumes created by health care medicine prescribers to the average Kenyan consumer.

Minimex and Prodev

ProDev Group Holdings is a company engaged in value creation businesses along the maize supply chain. It has two subsidiary companies. One, Minimex Ltd., is the largest manufacturer of branded maize meal in Rwanda, a manufacturer of grits, for the brewing industry, and bran, used in the formulation of animal feed.

The other, ProDev Rwanda, is involved in the handling, drying and storage of maize. The partnership with Fanisi will provide the impetus required to continuously improve the maize value chain, which is expected to make a positive contribution to Rwanda's agriculture, the health of the population, and its economic development.

The last 16 months have been favorable for ProDev as the company has expanded its reach, strengthened its business and captured the attention of Fanisi in the process. The funding will also pave the way for the scaling of ProDev's business across Rwanda and the region, as well as initiate a programme for the fortification of its branded maize meal to create a more nutritious product. Both regional growth and development impact are core mandates of Fanisi Capital.

Sophar is the leading distributor of pharmaceutical products in Rwanda. Created in 2007 by 58 pharmacists under the Association of Pharmacists in Rwanda, the company imports branded drugs, medical equipments, consummables and laboratory reagents and markets them across the country. SOPHAR’s priority is to improve the quality, affordability and availability of drugs in Rwanda.

Kijenge is a diversified agro-processing company based in Arusha, Tanzania engaged in maize milling, animal feed production and poultry (broiler) farming and processing. The company is in the process of building a foundation for its next growth phase that will see it grow and diversify its revenues by upgrading its current production infrastructure and by introducing new production lines. Fanisi will play an integral role in the company’s next growth phase and will provide growth capital for a significant minority stake in Kijenge.

About KISC

Kitengela International Schools Limited (KISC) is set on 2 campuses in Kitengela and along Mombasa Road. The schools group has a network of 4 schools. It opened its doors in January 2009 with a local curriculum day and boarding school and a local curriculum girls’ high school. In 2010 a new Local Curriculum primary school was opened along Mombasa road. In September 2013, a British curriculum school was opened. KISC exists to grow and mentor boys and girls of ages 3-18 years instilling in them the ability to create solutions to life’s challenges. The group seeks to triple its student population and open 2 more schools over the next 5 years.

Managing Partner at Fanisi Capital Limited.


He was previously the first Chief Executive Officer of TransCentury Limited, a Pan-African Investment Company based in Nairobi, Kenya. In addition to developing a management team, and establishing the operations and systems of the investment company from inception, Tony led in the structuring, negotiation and acquisition of several private equity investments in East, Central and South Africa.


Prior to this he was the Chief Executive Officer of ICDC Investment Co. Ltd, now Centum, where he led the privatisation of the company's management structure after 32 years of management by the parent state corporation. Tony built the management team and established the operations and systems of the Investment company from inception. At ICDCI his mandate included the overall management of an equity portfolio of over 40 companies, the origination and execution of Private Equity Investments and representing ICDCI on the boards of several portfolio companies.


He was previously a management consultant at PwC in the economics division and Resident Vice-President Regional Corporate Finance at Citibank Kenya. He holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Georgetown University and a BSc in Agricultural Economics from Wye College (now merged with Imperial

Asif is an Investment Associate with 5 years experience in Private Equity in East Africa. He previously worked at Prime Bank, where he was responsible for corporate salary payments, including training clients on the bank payment system installed on client sites.


He started his career as an accountant, working for an accounting and auditing firm in London, and as a part time lecturer of accounting and tax modules of the ACCA qualification. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. He is also a member of ACCA and a CFA Charterholder.

He has accumulated extensive management experience and operational knowledge on African Markets. Ayisi co-founded Africa Online Holdings Ltd. and served as its Chief Executive Officer. He has been a Director of Kenya Airways Ltd. since August 2005.


Ayisi has been voted among the leading top 15 CEOs in East Africa, three years in a row, in the Annual PwC - Nation Media Group survey of the top Chief Executive Officer's in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.


Previously he served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of African Management Services Company, Managing Partner of Gallium Partners Investments and Non-Executive Chairman of MCI/UUNET Africa, Non-Executive Director of Barclays Bank of Kenya Ltd. since June 26, 2002 and Non-Executive Director of African Lakes Corporation Plc until October 18, 2002.


He holds a Bsc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Peris is an Investment Associate responsible for deal sourcing, deal making, post investment transitional portfolio management and exit planning. Prior to joining Fanisi Peris previously worked at Britam Asset Managers where she was responsible for Private Equity investments and other alternative assets. This included implementing the long-term private equity strategy for Britam and its institutional investors as well as managing direct investments and fund investments both on the client’s books and the company’s book.


Peris holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from the university of Nairobi, and is an affiliate of ACCA. She is currently a candidate in Level 2 of the CFA qualification.


Peris was also involved in management of the public markets assets including asset allocation, equities and fixed income research and portfolio management for high net worth mandates. Peris was also in charge of the Britam Offshore Fund domiciled in Mauritius.

Justus is a Portfolio Prinicipal responsible for the strategic allignment of all stakeholders in the private equity investment portfolio of Fanisi Capital. In addition to managing and monitoring portfolio companies, he assists portfolio companies implement corporate governance policies, improve operational efficieny and financial reporting to boost perfomance.


Prior to joining Fanisi, he worked a Financial Controller for SGA Group Tanzania where he was responsible for financial strategy, managing all country finance and accounting operations, financial reporting, risk management and debt management.


His career in Finance spans over 14 years during which he also worked at pwc Kenya a senior Finance and Accounting consutant. He also worked as a risk and compliance coordinator for Barclays Bank of Kenya and as a reconcilliation accountant for CF Stanbic Bank.


He holds a Masters in Business Administration (Finance Option) degree and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Option) degree both from the University of Nairobi. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Kenya CPA(K) and Tanzania CPA(T). He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor(CISA).

Astuti is a Portfolio Analyst responsible for analysing and evaluating operational performance, valuations and the strategic growth of portfolio companies.


Prior to joining Fanisi, Astuti was a management accountant at Savichem Africa Ltd where she was responsible for preparing financial statements, reconcilling bank statements and filing tax returns. She also conducted cost benefit analysis and analysed procurement efficiences.


She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from International College for Girls, Jaipur, India. She is also a member of ACCA and a Certified Public Accountant CPA (K). Currently is a CFA Level II candidate.

Dickson began his career in Private Equity in 2016 assisting the investment team evaluate potential investee companies and undertake deal-focused research. Currently, he works as an Investment Analyst with the Portfolio Team where he is responsible for enhancing the productivity of investee companies by engaging with management and identifying various value growth initiatives. He also supports the Investment Team in deal processing and exiting private equity investments.


Prior to joining Fanisi, he worked briefly at Dyer and Blair Investment Bank where he was involved in share trading and customer service, and later teaching various accountancy units.


He graduated with a First Class Honors in Bachelor of Commerce- Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and a Certified Secretary (CS). Currently he is a CFA Level II candidate.

Serah is an Investor Relations Manager responsible for the strategic management of the company's corporate communication and relationship with its investors. She is also responsible for the growth and development of the business and spearheads the company's fund raising efforts both locally and internationally.


Prior to joining Fanisi, Serah worked at Alexander Forbes Financial Services Limited (Now Zamara Actuaries, Administrators and Consultants Limited) where she held various positions over a period of 11 years including, Deputy Head, Research & Development, Pension Consultant and Editorial Coordinator.


During her career at Alexander Forbes Finanical Services Limited, She was appointed to the Alexander Forbes Junior Board in Johannesburg, South Africa where she served as the respresentative for all employees working for the Alexander Forbes Group in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. As a Junior Board member she assisted the Group in the implementation of company strategy and the formulation of a platform for innovation.


Serah holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the United States International University-Africa. She also holds Level II Diplomas in Human Resource Development and Public Relations & Comminication from Graffins College.

Ceasar is an Investment Manager with over 10 years’ experience in Private Equity and Corporate & Financial Advisory Services. Prior to joining Fanisi, he worked as a financial analyst at Seven Seas Technology Group where he has responsible for contributing to the company's expansion into new markets with supporting business plans, budgeting for all group companies, management of fund raising and the management of investors and board relations.


Before that, he worked for Nautilus Capital, a boutique Financial Advisory firm that specialized in corporate finance. At Nautilus he helped companies discover their growth funding needs and run the fund raising process which includes generating business plans with a supporting financial models, discovering the optimal funding structures and supporting in the closure of transactions.


He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University and is a member of ACCA. He is currently pursuing level 2 of the CFA qualification.

Herve has over 40 years experience in Private Equity, Venture Capital and Capital Markets in Europe and Africa. He served as the Chairman of the French Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AFIC) from 2010-2012. He then proceeded to Xange Private Equity where he served as the CEO for 13 years and thereafter as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.


He has extensive experience in Africa having served in Banque Internationale pour l’Afrique Occidentale (BIAO) as the Head of the Capital Markets Department and the Energy Department. The Group operates in West Africa and Europe and during his tenor he founded BIDC in Brazaville, Congo. He also worked with Natixis Private Equity as the CEO spearheading international development in emerging markets such as North Africa, Japan and Asia.


He is currently the President of the Africa Club in the French Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AFIC) in Paris . He is also the President of Sofia Fides (Marseille, Paris) which specialises in business advisory and management consulting.


He is also a Member of IC IPDEV and I&P Gestion for IPAE. Board member of Teranga Capital (Dakar-Senegal), Board member of Provence Network Worldwide and Executive Board member for the Foundation for Institut de l’engagement (FIDELE), Paris.

Farid has over 25 years of experience in project development, project structuring and financing in Europe, South East Asia, Latina America, East Africa and Southern Africa. His experience spans a wide range of sectors including primary agriculture, agricultural processing, hotels, commercial property, manufacturing and financial services.


He is currently a consultant on Private Sector & Infrastrucure Development for the African Development Bank. He is also Director for Pipal Limited. Prior to that he served as a Director for Meghraj Capital Limited, Lion's Head Global Patners, Lesiolo Grain Handlers Limited and insta products (EPZ) Limited among others.


He is an advisor to private sector investors developing projects (power, water, roads) in Eastern Africa and to development finance institutions ie. World Bank, IFC, DEG, KFW. He also serves as an Investment Committee Member for African Seed Investment Fund and Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund.

Nazir has extensive experience spanning over 35 years in the informtion communicatuion and technology sector as well as the hospitality industry.


He is the Co-Founder and Board Chairman of Copy Cat Group of Companies in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. Nazir was instrumental in transforning CopyCat from a family business to a professionally run organisation. Today Copy Cat is a leading brand in the East Africa region providing transformative office intergration and automation solutions.

Jim has over 42 years experience managing international and emerging markets private equity funds. He specialises as an adviser on global best practices to private equity investment firms investing in emerging markets; fund of funds management; manager selection; due diligence; manager oversight; marketing presentations; investment policies and approval process; investor relationship management. Some of these markets include Cambodia, Vietnam, Haiti, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and India.


He is currently a Managing Partner at Ponterfract Global Strategies, LLC which specialises in advising investment management firms of opportunities in emerging markets and a director at Social Entreprise Greenhouse which supports the development of for-profit and non-profit social enterprises that create positive social and economic impact. Previously he served as a Director for EMP Global and Commonfund Capital both dealing with private equity investing in emerging markets.

Winnie is a Finance Manager responsible for fund administration, strategic financial management, compliance, reporting, business process management and risk assessment.


Prior to joining Fanisi she consulted as a Statutory Leader in General Electric where she was responsible for managing compliance with local statutory and tax requirements for all General Electric entities in East and South Africa (16 jurisdictions).


She also worked in Deloitte & Touché where she was the Lead Audit Senior in engagements in manufacturing, financial services and energy industry. She was responsible for planning and identifying risks related to financial audits, reviewing compliance of financial statements with IFRS, IAS and GAAP and testing and appraising the soundness and adequacy of internal controls.


Winnie holds a Masters of Science Finance in Investments and a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance Major from the University of Nairobi. She is also ACCA Member having received her accreditation from Strathmore University.

Wanjira Mwaniki is the Office Manager at Fanisi Capital.


She has extensive professional experience in administration and human resources. Prior to joining Fanisi, she worked with Career Outsourcing as a Business Manager responsible for implementing strategies, ensuring compliance, running the day to day business activities.


In the early stages of her career, she worked at WWP Scangroup Ltd; an Advertising and Communication Services company as an administrative assistant and at Human Capital Synergies Africa Ltd as a Customer Care Executive.


She holds a higher diploma from the College of Human Resources management and is an associate member at IHRM (Institute of Human Resources Management).
